Experimental work | Circuit for 6N136-6N137 optocoupler
2:29 AM- Connect the input signal between pins 2 and 3. Use a sutiable resistor for current limiting. I used a 58 ohm resistor in series with pin 2.
- Connect Pin 8 with Vcc and Pin 5 with ground.
- Connect a 0.1uf polar capacitor between pin 8 and 5.
- Connect a load resistor between pin 8 and pin 6. I used 2.6kohm
- Connect a 15 pf capacitor between pin 6 and pin 5.
- Output is voltage across pin 6 and 5.

excuse me sir, i want to ask how if I want 10 V from the output pin? Because i want to drive a mosfet
ReplyDeleteYou cannot apply a voltage greater than that of its rated voltage. In order to get 10V at the output there are two methods.
ReplyDelete1) If the output current is minimal then you can use a logic IC e.g 7404 .
2) The more potent way to drive a msofet is to use a dedicated gate driver circuit using IC like IR2111. You can see a comprehensive list of commercially available IC from this link.

thanks for your reply sir. I am using 6N136 and the datasheet said the supply voltage -0.5 to 15 V. Is it still possible to get 10V at the Vo pin, sir?
DeleteIn that case you can choose a suitable resistance and can use the voltage across it.
